AANP is partnering with The Foundation for Care Management (FCM) to accredit naturopathic education programs for physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, physician assistants, dietitians, certified health education specialists, and others in the health care team.
The purpose of this collaborative education is to give practitioners integrative approaches to common conditions; for instance, for cancer, diabetes, obesity, digestive disorders, fertility problems, and others.Dr. Kasra Pournadeali, President of the AANP noted recent research from the National Center for Complimentary and Integrative Health, NCCIH (formerly NCCAM), reporting that more than a third of American adults use some form of comp or int medicine in any given year. “As experts in natural medicine,” he said, “NDs are well positioned to address this existing and growing patient need.”
